Beautiful earrings by Sheila Fleet, the weathered flagstones around Orkney.
These drop earrings are sterling silver with enamel and are 1″ x 1/2″
These Flagstone drop earrings in sterling silver features three layered silver segments, hand-enamelled in our Orkney workshop. Each measures approximately 15mm by 28mm.
Sheila has always been very interested in geology, especially during her early years while studying at Edinburgh College of Art. Flagstones—or flags—have a unique texture and are used for fencing in parts of Caithness, with animals using them as shelter during the winter months. As the stones become weathered they acquire a beautiful color and texture, and this aged appearance gave Sheila the inspiration for her ‘Flagstone’ collection.
