Araminta Campbell

Araminta Campbell

Made in Scotland, by Scotland

Contemporary designs.
Centuries of Scottish tradition.
Cherished scarves, throws and Scottish textiles.

Araminta began her journey as a sole trader in 2014, establishing Araminta Campbell as a business in 2016. As Creative Director and lead designer, she remains deeply involved in every step of the process, from training new handweavers at their Atelier to creating bespoke woven designs for clients.

“The quality and story behind a hand-crafted item is something that cannot be rivalled. In this world of mechanical development, I feel that the appreciation for handmade items is growing. My passion for hand weaving has developed through my work and experience. Being self-taught in weaving, having graduated with a degree in embroidery, I am able to approach the structured nature of weave organically. I love the complex and mathematical design required and I try to push the boundaries of my knowledge by creating new designs and challenging the limits that can often be very restricting in weaving.”

Araminta Campbell, Founder

Araminta Birse-Stewart, has been named on the Walpole Power List 2024, recognizing her as one of British luxury’s most influential figures.

The Walpole Power List celebrates the most inspirational minds shaping the future of British luxury. Araminta’s inclusion is a testament to her dedication to elevating Scotland’s centuries-old weaving heritage, seamlessly blending tradition with contemporary excellence in the luxury world.

Every Araminta Campbell piece is a tribute to Scotland, crafted in the heart of the country using local materials, traditional techniques, and expert craftsmanship. Signature pieces are designed and handwoven in their studio and workshop, while the Heritage Millwoven, MINTA collections, and bespoke tweed and tartan projects are produced in collaboration with carefully selected weaving mills across Scotland.

The HERITAGE Millwoven Collection reflects Araminta’s deep connection to her home in Royal Deeside, Scotland, where she was born and raised. Surrounded by the region’s stunning landscapes, she draws inspiration from its natural beauty, transforming fleeting moments into timeless designs. Each piece in the collection showcases her unwavering dedication to Scottish craftsmanship and celebrates the artistry and beauty that define Scotland.

The Heritage Collection

There are four limited edition tartans within her Heritage Millwoven Collection.

Autumn Woodlands walk With its artisanal craftsmanship and impeccable quality, this lambswool tartan hot water bottle isn’t just a Scottish accessory — it seamlessly combines luxury with functionality to provide you with unparalleled comfort during chilly nights or when seeking relief from aches and pains. Designed for those who appreciate the finer things in life, it’s a must-have accessory for every home – the ideal Scottish gift

Beech Dappled Skies is the essence of Scotland’s woodlands. Araminta draws inspiration from her childhood memories of the beech tree woodland surrounding her family home in Aberdeenshire nestled within the Royal Deeside Corridor. The tartan design beautifully depicts the serene blue skies gently filtering through the dappling leaves of the beach tree woodland.

Highlands at Dawn  Araminta remembers her childhood holidays spent exploring the Scottish Highlands at her grandparent’s house and the glorious views during sunrise.  Within this tartan you can find the vast skies of the Highland’s, a breathtaking play of colors as the sun peeks over the horizon. Soft blues mingle with warm oranges and gentle greens, echoing the tranquil allure of dawn’s first light, with the deeper blue hinting at the silhouetted trees against the sunrise.

Highlands at Dusk Journey into the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Araminta took inspiration from her childhood holidays spent exploring the Scottish Highlands at her grandparent’s house and the gorgeous views during sunset. She has captured the breathtaking drama as the Scottish highland skies deepen into dusk. A display of stunning dark blues interwoven with a bold red overcheck, mirroring the rugged mountain silhouettes against the setting sun. The clouds catch fire with warm tones that slowly fade into gentle greys, a sight that never fails to leave Araminta in awe.

The Minta Collection

Step into a world where nature and craft intertwine, where the delicate beauty of Scotland’s landscapes is woven into every piece. The MINTA Interiors Collection brings warmth and elegance to your home, with timeless designs inspired by the natural forms of ferns, willows, and woodland inkcap mushrooms.

Each creation is a tribute to the serene beauty of Scotland’s woodlands and rivers, lovingly crafted from 85% sustainably sourced British alpaca and 15% rose fiber, all woven in rural Scotland.

The MINTA collection is a reflection of designer and founder Araminta-Birse Stewart’s deep connection to the Scottish countryside. Inspired by lush ferns that blanket Scotland’s forests, the trailing grace of willows along riverbanks, and the enchanting sight of woodland inkcap mushrooms from Araminta’s family garden in Aberdeenshire, each design captures the delicate intricacies of nature. The soft, undyed British alpaca fibers allow the natural hues of the landscape to shine, creating a neutral palette of caramel, grey and white that blends effortlessly into any space.

Made with the finest natural materials, the only natural fiber that can be sourced in the UK is Alpaca, we use this sustainable fiber in its natural form, with no use of harsh chemical in any of our fiber, adding a subtle glisten to each piece, enhancing its strength and durability. The result is a fabric that’s not only hypoallergenic and insulating but also irresistibly soft and radiant, reflecting the natural beauty of the Scottish landscapes it’s inspired by. Within the UK only 5-10% of alpacas produce the quality of fleece selected for our products. The fleece is selected for fineness, crimp, luster and color

Every color, a testament to nature’s palette, lovingly obtained by Araminta through natural plant dyes including nettles, indigo, madder, onion skins and logwood. Embrace the artistry of nature, woven into every fiber of this tartan and immerse yourself in the Highlands’ rugged beauty.
