Maggie Lord

Artist, designer and maker

Maggie has always loved art and gained a love of photography and painting when I moved to the Orkney Islands in the 1990’s. Whilst living in Orkney, she learned to make silver jewelry from a Sheffield silver smith, Kevin Allen who had set up his own business on the Islands, Orkneyinga Silver Smiths. She then started making a small range of handmade jewelry and selling to local galleries.

Maggie now lives and works in Clydesdale, Scotland where she developed her Art to Wear range of brightly painted, vibrant wrap pins and brooches inspired by the magic and beauty of the landscape, wildlife and fauna. Scotland has an enormous influence on her designs, together with her own passion for vibrant color's and bold design. Maggie's Tartan Scottie Dog brooch won best in show at the Scottish Trade Fair, Spring 2013.
