Long Crail Cardigan in Marine
There are some pieces you reach for every single day, and the Long Crail Cardigan from Edinburgh's Bill Baber is exactly that kind of piece. Effortlessly elegant, endlessly versatile, and with a story woven into every stitch.
The Crail stitch, Bill Baber's signature basket weave, was inspired by the fishing nets and lobster pots of the Scottish coast. It's a beautiful detail that adds wonderful texture to what is otherwise a clean, contemporary silhouette, and a lovely nod to the coastal heritage that runs through so much of Scottish design.
Knitted in a luxurious blend of Donegal merino wool, linen and cotton in a single tone Marine colorway, this long open cardigan falls to mid thigh and works as an elegant layer over virtually anything, a simple top, a summer dress, or even over a heavier piece as the seasons change. The decorative front panel can be folded back for a beautiful framing effect or left open for a more relaxed look.
Incredibly flattering and surprisingly versatile, the Medium size is designed to fit the vast majority of shapes and sizes, Bill Baber's team have tried it on people of all shapes and sizes and found it works beautifully across the board.
We recommend a gentle hand wash in cool water or dry clean to keep it looking its best.
Handmade in Edinburgh by a small family business with over four decades of Scottish craft behind them, this is a piece that earns its place in any wardrobe.
