A thousand years ago, during the Viking's invasion of Scotland, an advancing enemy warrior stepped on a thistle and cried out in pain. Inadvertently he woke the sleeping Scotsmen, thus alerting them to the presence of the Norse invaders. The Scottish King Kenneth III was so grateful, that he adopted the thistle as his nation's emblem, and it has remained so to this day.
This scarf depicts Scotland's national emblem in a beautiful combination of Lilac, Purple and Soft Green.
